Hola,
Here we are again for another Movie Monday and this time I’m doing it a little differently. This week I’m not doing a review on a movie but rather talking about what’s on my “to watch” list.
Recently I’ve seen a lot of newer releases. Including The Belko Experiment, Fast and Furious 8 movie and Kong. Reviews on the latter two are on the way. My ‘To Watch’ list continues to grow with future releases and some oldies but goodies that I want to rewatch.
The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
I remember watching The Silence of the Lambs years ago when I was younger, not too young mind you, and being captivated. This movie is a classic for a reason and deserves a rewatch.
Panic Room (2002)
Another Jodie Foster film starring a young Kristen Stuart. This is another movie I remember watching a long time ago, when I was much younger and at the time it scared me but I think now that I’m older I need to go back and rewatch this movie.
One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest (1975)
I saw a trailer for this movie in the cinema recently and I was worried that it was a remake. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it seems to be a re-release of the original. Starring Jack Nicholson, a criminal who opts for a mental institution rather than jail.
Beauty and The Beast
I feel like the only person on the planet who hasn’t watched this movie yet and I have no reason as to why I haven’t. Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourite Disney films ever and has been since I was a child. I am curious to see how Hermio- I mean Emma Watson performs as Belle and this will pan out as a live action.
A Dog’s Purpose (2017)
Okay see this one, this little movie right here. Watch the trailer, I beg of you. Now have you watched it? You better say yes. Because I can’t be the only person who got teary watching that trailer? Doggies living multiple lives and re-finding some of the family they lost in their lives? A little tear? Anyone?
Okay moving on, this movie looks adorable and I love puppies so I see no wrong here.
Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol 2 ( 2017)
I watched movie well, Volume 1 a few weeks ago on BBC or ITV – I can’t remember which. Basically, it was on TV and I’ve seen a few good comments here and there on the internet so I gave it a whirl. I’ve not really watched any other films from this franchise, if I am being honest. Don’t shoot me. But – I enjoyed volume 1 so much.
Volume 1 was humorous, family friendly and Groot is the best character I’ve ever seen.
Praying that the sequel won’t be a let down and excited to baba Groot.
Sleepless (2017)
Here’s the trailer. We’ve got a fast paced cop-thriller starring Jamie Foxx and the story of when being a bad cop goes wrong. There have been parallels drawn between this and Taken and I guess I can see why but also, not every child kidnapping should be seen as a new version of Taken.
I like Jamie Foxx as an actor and the trailer seems good but I’m not sure if I would pay to go cinema and watch this.
Upcoming releases
King Arthur – Legend of the Sword (2017)
Now I love druids, fantasy and historical magic in England so you can imagine that the lore of Merlin interests me. I loved the Disney depiction of Arthur and Merlin, I loved the TV series and I even weeped a little on the finale so I looked at this trailer with sort of shifty eyes. See:
It does look epic: the costumes, the props, the cinematic camera shots but part of me, admittedly a large part, is skeptical about this. It may be down to the tales of King Arthur being re-told again and again and again. Or maybe it’s down to the trailer being more action than lore and I couldn’t really see Merlin in the trailer.
I still have hopes for this movie but right now it’s somewhere between a hit and a miss.
A final little update and then I’ll be off. My Love Me Beauty bag finally arrived! So Wednesday will be beauty bag subscription day and I’m excited to show you guys what is in this month’s edit.
Bye bye until Wednesday!
Blessings,
Em x
